Miakie Unveils New Single 'Green Love' – A Dreamy Indie-Pop Exploration

16 August 2024 - 0 Comments

Emerging R&B-pop artist Miakie releases her most exciting single, Green Love, today, August 16th. The song delves into the mysterious nature of dreams and the lingering emotions of a childhood friendship that transcends time and distance.

Green Love is a poignant reflection on a childhood friend who began appearing in Miakie's dreams last year. "At some point last year, she started appearing in my dreams every week," Miakie shares. "I started to wonder if there was some kind of message behind it or some meaning to take away from it. We haven't talked in years, and she lives far away, so it was eerie. The song is called Green Love because we had a jealous and competitive friendship that was at the same time so close and loving."

The song's theme is introspective, posing questions rather than providing answers. "The whole song is a bit of a question mark," Miakie explains. "Is there any significance to your dreams? Should you be paying attention to what happens in them?"

Musically, Green Love ventures into the realms of Indie-pop and alt-pop, drawing inspiration from artists like Joesef, Feng Suave, Billie Eilish, and BENEE. The track's sound is a blend of dreamy melodies and driving drum groove that is the backbone of the song.

Green Love was a collaborative effort with producer and multi-instrumentalist Ethan Jupe. "We have written a few songs together, including my two latest singles, 'Want the Goosebumps' and 'A Thousand Feathers,'" Miakie notes. "This song was a labor of love; it did not come easy. The chorus went through several iterations before we landed on the final version. But I wanted to stick it out because I loved the groove so much."

With Green Love, Miakie aims to connect with her growing audience and make her mark on the festival circuit this summer. "I really just want to keep pumping out as much music as I can and find the audience that I know is waiting for me," she says.

Green Love is available on all streaming platforms now. Stay tuned for more updates and follow Miakie on social media for the latest news and behind-the-scenes content.
