Finishing off 2024 in style and just in time for his annual NZ summer tour, Oakley Grenell presents 11 bass-heavy tracks featuring a host of local and international vocal collaborations, culminating in the Echoes LP.

“This long player features all my past knowledge when it comes to producing, collaborating, writing, and getting the very best out of my MCs, vocalists, and instruments, whether that’s a guitar, bass, MPD, or laptop. Although this is my first LP in 10 years, I have released four 6-track EPs, remix projects, videos, live mixes over the past four years.”

“Musically, I’m paying homage to my 2004 debut Uncharted LP with a beautiful mix of electronica ranging from lush, chilled trip hop (How You Like That feat. Jennine Bailey / Currents) through to more modern dancehall and trap-based music (Madness feat. YT / Drop On Em feat. Max Shotta / Sirens Coming feat. Raggadon).

All the way to showcasing my love of breaks and jungle-influenced tracks (Rude Bwoy feat. King Ru / Bad Man / Unite). There’s even some footwork in there too, with a production collaboration with Melbourne DJ / producer Sam Stacka (Go Baby / Sometimes).”

If you’re a lover of crisp, well-crafted, and interesting production, then Echoes will tick most of your electronica boxes, with varying mood palettes from chilled, paddy compositions to aggressive, heavy dancefloor bangers with large enough bass to rock any Soundsystem.

Oakley can be seen and heard weekly during his hour of Visual Radio, streaming live on Twitch with collaborator Max Shotta as part of Friday Night LETOFF from 5–6 pm PST.
