GREG JOHNSON – SECRET WEAPON

Secret Weapon is Greg Johnson’s first independent album since Everyday Distortions in 1995 and the first to be released in New Zealand on his own label JMA. Despite having a couple of offers on the table from major record companies, Greg Johnson opted to go it alone on his new album. Partnering with Auckland based music marketing company www.bandbutler.com, he has produced a career defining album. Secret Weapon was recorded at Greg’s Santa Monica studio between June and October 2010 and sees Greg returning to his roots.

Taping The Radio heralds Steriogram’s triumphant return to rock n roll mayhem! Mid 2009 saw the band reconvene in Los Angeles to record what is undoubtedly the bands strongest offering yet.. Taping The Radio is packed with sing a long anthem, commanding melodies and themes drawn from Steriograms twelve year career. A journey which has seen the Grammy Nominated band play thousands of shows across many countries, and in the process sell hundreds of thousands of records worldwide.

RORY GALLAGHER – THE BEAT CLUB SESSIONS

Beat-Club was a German music programme that ran from September 1965 to December 1972. It was broadcast from Bremen, Germany and is notable for being the first German show to be based around popular music. Rory Gallagher was one of the shows most frequent visitors performing four times in the space of just over two years. This CD features 12 classic versions of Rory’s early solo material from three separate performances during 1971-72.

MATTHEW DEAR – BLACKCITY

Depending on whom you ask, Matthew Dear is a DJ, a dance-music producer, an experimental pop artist, a bandleader. He co-founded both Ghostly International and its dancefloor offshoot, Spectral Sound. He’s had remixes commissioned by The XX, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Hot Chip; he’s made mixes for the Fabric mix series and Get Physical’s “Body Language”. He straddles multiple musical worlds and belongs to none —and he’sjust hitting his stride. “BlackCityis his darkest, most complete and engrossing work to date.

BETTY AND THE WEREWOLVES – TEATIME FAVOURITES

Betty and The Werewolves formed in 2007 and are three girls and one boy from London and Cambridge who whoop and howl through the night as their sweetly sung melodies collide with glitter-struck punk guitars. Taking inspiration from luminary lycanthropes Virginia Woolf and Grandma Wolf, they sing ditties about falling in love with David Cassidy and strange encounters on night buses, shouting all the while and scuffing up their party shoes.
