Aussie songstress Sia has just beenannounced to play in New Zealand for the first time at the NZ Big Day Out! DAMIAN LAZARUS ~ Fabric 54

The LA based but London born musical chameleon & Crosstown Rebels label boss proudly presents the 54th offering in the Fabric compilation series. The compilation provides a diverse cross-section of electronic music today, with house, techno, dubstep and experimental selections all present. Artists like Deetron, Swayzak, Lee Jones and The Mole provide the CD's 4/4 pulse, while Appleblim, Ramadanman Man, Four Tet and Roska provide a bit of eclectic appeal.  Naturally Fabric 54 also includes some new and unreleased Crosstown Rebels recordings.

After the dark years of World War Two, there still existed a notion of Africa as a land of mystery, a lost twilight world that was wild and untamed - Rock ‘n’ Roll became fascinated with the Dark Continent -Tarzan movies becoming particularly prevalent during the 1950's and dangerous, pounding rhythms, Ape Calls and a menagerie of wild beasts proved to be an ideal theme for a Rock n Roll song!Just some of the 1950s gems included on the 24 track compilation are ‘Birth Of The Boogie’ – Bill Haley, ‘Ubangi Stomp’ - JerryLee Lewis, ‘Monkey Song (You Made A Money Out Of Me)’ - The Big Bopper & ‘Jungle’ Bo Diddley
