AVENGED SEVENFOLD – NIGHTMARE – 2 x LP

Nightmare is the sixth album from Amercian Metal band Avenged Sevenfold. Believe it or not this record ended Eminems run at the top of the billboard charts, selling over 160,000 in the first week of release.

The band originally hail from California, and started life in 1999. Originally a metalcore band, their 2003 release City of Evil, the first on a major label saw them achieve critical acclaim and strong sales, it was the breakthrough album. Switching up from the metalcore sound they featured a more Hard Rock sound as well crossing into country / ballad writing territory. Ultimately it worked in favour of the band who now release this, there 5th studio album

For Fans of: Atceyn, Bullet for my Valentine, Guns N Roses

CHIODOS – ILLUMINAUDIO – CD

Chiodos are an all American Post Hardcore band from Michigan. This is there 3rd studio album, an album which seems to have pleased not only the post hardcore community but the media in general. With a new singer for this album, that could of made 2 things happen, either a bad record or a great new sound, thankfully the latter. New singer Brandon Bolmer came in and didn’t try to sound like the man he was replacing, Craig Owens, and maybe that was just what was needed for the band to reach the nexty stage of there careers. Brandon was originally in the band Yesterdays Rising, it looks like a match made in post hardcore heaven.

PARIS SUIT YOURSELF – MY MAIN SHITSTAIN – CD

What do you want from the ideal debut album? That it excites you, intrigues you, sometimes confuses you? That it takes risks, is hard to place in terms of the records you already know, that it’s short and sharp and bursting with energy and ideas and even hooks? That it makes you laugh, or cry, or has your jaw occasionally scraping along the floor? That it sets out its stall with utter confidence and no reference to what’s going on around it? That it’s delivered with total conviction? That it fits into no pre-defined “trend” or “scene” and instead creates its own space by force of will?

If even a few of those are what you’re looking for then “My Main Shitstain” by Paris Suit Yourself could just be your new favourite record.

For Fans of: Gang of Four, Dead Kennedys, Fishbone

ANTAGONIST – WORLD IN DECLINE – CD

In the rapidly changing and evolving world of heavy music, bands come and go faster than you can get a value meal at a fast food restaurant. Finding bands who are still slugging it out after a decade is a rare occurrence. What’s even more uncommon is finding a band who have recorded their most intense and career defining album 12 years into their career. But, that is exactly the case with Southern California’s ANTAGONIST, and their new album, “World In Decline.”

For Fans of: Hatebreed, Pantera, Madball
