ANDREW KEOGHAN – ARTIC TALES DIVIDE – CD 

Andrew Keoghan is a songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist who combines his classical training in singing and violin, with elements of pop and folk – you could even call it chamber-pop.

Keoghan’s songs reflect his fascination with the intruguing little things that sprinkle life’s everyday encounters – ‘Clean Sheets and a Fishbowl’ describes being accidentally flagged down by an eager escort near Auckland’s K Road. With a love of description, lyrics sway from ethereal to direct when speaking of matters of the heart.

He was schooled on violin, guitar and in singing from a young age. At 21, he sung in Puccini’s opera Turandot in Christchurch before moving to Wellington, where he sang in various jazz ensembles for three years. Keoghan moved to Auckland and began unassumingly making a name for himself in the music scene by writing songs and playing memorable shows, initially as a solo artist and more recently with a live band.

He took part to French alternative scene in the 80’s and then released “Blues Project” in 1996, greatly influenced by Dj Shadow. In 1998, “A Grand Love story” Trip hop compositions received a great acceptation from both the critics and the public, and became a reference album from the electro genre. From the date, collaborations and albums were many. In 2009, Wagram re released 2 mythic albums “A Grand Love story” and “Kill you Darlings”, together with a remix albums of Kid Loco’s greatest tracks.

DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT – HATRED FOR MANKIND – CD 

Dragged into Sunlight are the first UK band to be signed to Metal heavyweight Prosthetic Records.

The band, described best as a mix between black, death and doom metal, don’t like to give away too much information about themselves.

Usually performing in very dark rooms with lots of smoke, and donning balaclavas for press shoots, they’re more concerned about the music. Not for the faint hearted, but fans of Prosthetic records will eat this up!

About a month back we did this bands 1^st album, Free Dirt, this time we bring you this Died Pretty compilation.

Reissue of the seminal compilation that brings together Died Pretty's first two singles (neither of which appear on the Very Best of, despite that album taking its name from their first single) and the breakthrough Next To Nothing Ep. Pre Diety sounds and runs like it's proper album and many people think it's one of their best releases! These tracks feature the first two lineups of the band and there's something to be said for the opinion that the early lineups of the band and its songwriting approach have never been matched. WE CAME AS ROMANS – TO PLANT A SEED – CD 

Debut album turning heads from American Post Hardcore band We Came As Romans.

Recorded with up-and-coming producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Emarosa, Attack Attack) at his Foundation Recording Studio, the 10-song follow-up to their breakout EP, Dreams, finds the band expanding their blend of pop-infused metal.

Although recorded with the same producer, there is still an intentional difference between the two albums. We Came As Romans didn’t let the fact that they are only a six-piece hold them back from achieving a more symphonic sound on To Plant A Seed. “I played the trombone from Elementary school until I graduated high school and I always took the sound of a symphonic band or an orchestra with me,” explains Moore of their decision to add orchestral elements to the album such as the violins, brass, and piano interlaced throughout the album’s dynamic layers.

Not unlike the EP, the lyrics on To Plant A Seed reflect “We Came As Romans’ goal of spreading a positive message through their music. The band hopes, “when people hear the album, they might not change the way they think or the way they act right now, but hopefully we've planted that ‘seed’, that thought of love, and it can grow.”

ALPHA BLONDY – REISSUE’S – 7 x CD’S 

Alpha Blondy was born in the Ivory Coast in 1953. We have 7 of his best album re-issued and re-mastered for you.

His first album Jah Glory, released in 1982, had enormous success internationally and he was given the title, the Bob Marley of Africa. He gave the Reggae his own African twist and also recorded in different languages, English, French, Baoule and his native language of Dioula.

A Career spanning over 20 years and 19 albums Alpha remains as important today as he did the year of his first album release, 1982. Politically charged and full of uplifting messages, Alpha Blondy remains a key figure in Reggar music today.
