VARIOUS – BUDDHA BAR XIII – 2 x CD

After over 10 years of unique selections and 12 volumes, the Buddha Bar Series is ready to introduce its 13th musical installment.

Buddha Bar DJ’s keep on travelling the world searching for the next hit, the next artist that deserves to be given a spotlight, pushing their limits and making us dream and travel.

Mystery, magic & luck perfectly define this new opus.

Lucky number?? Indeed. 13 can bring luck & happiness! 13 is believed to bring bad luck in the West and good luck in Asia. This is why 13 is written in Chinese… out of Superstition!

The sounds are filled with a mysterious and magic atmosphere.

For Fans of: Budda Bar Series

DAEDELUS – BESPOKE – CD

After a busy couple of years of touring, remixing and releasing singles and EPs with Brainfeeder, AllCity, Magical Properties (the Daedelus home-imprint), Alpha Pup, Warp and Stones Throw, Alfred Darlington aka Daedelus returns with his new full length album on Ninja Tune, “Bespoke”.

Bespoke is defined as “a term employed to mean an item custom-made to measure.” Darlington explains that “I not only intended it as a reflection of the LP itself, but also an outlook on life.” It’s Daedelus’ way of stating that it’s possible to grow and flourish as a musician without settling for the drab factory pre-sets of genre.

This album is typically genre free as Daedelus shifts between electronic and sample based tracks sounding very at home with his 2nd album for Ninja Tune, another milestone for the L.A Beatsmith.

For Fans of: Flying Lotus, Luke Vibert

VARIOUS – FUTURE FUNK – 2 x CD

Those cheeky fellas in France have whipped together another CD featuring the freshest new funk artists out in the scene today.

What do you get if you put music from the likes of Hot 8 Brass Band, The Bamboo’s, Belleruche, Amp Fiddler and Greyboy all on one CD?

You get the finest new school funk artists over the last 5 years together on a 2 x CD collection. If you have a passion for funk then this should do the trick.

For Fans of: The Bamboos, Spanky Wilson, Belleruche

LESLIE STEVENS & THE BADGERS – ROOMFUL OF SMOKE – CD

Third album from the L.A based singer and band Leslie Stevens and The Badgers produced by the legendary David Bianco, producer of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.

Roomful of Smoke highlights Stevens’ delicate, often melancholy laced voice sounding a little like contemporaries such as Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss and even a hint of Dolly Parton.

It’s as though Stevens has taken the sound and feel of the best country albums of the 70s and reworked them to her purposes, adapted them to our current times and places.

The themes are the same, but the execution tweaked just so. Roomful Of Smoke is an album deftly done, well-recorded and well-played. It’s a great blend of the humidly haunting South and the golden magic of the Canyon.

For Fans of: Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss

POUR HABIT – DOWN FOR THE COUNT – CD

Pour Habit is a melodic pop punk band that is "straight outta" Compton, California. They return with their 2nd album Got Your Back on the Fat Wreck stable.

'Got Your Back' is a pop-punk record. Bottom line. Fast and pummeling drums. Infectious vocal hooks. Bright melodic guitar progressions. Its all there. Something else thats ever present is the strong sense of metal. This is accomplished through the injection of very tightly played solos throughout a lot of their tracks (a la A Wilhelm Scream).

This record is full of tracks that will get you humming along and rhythmically nodding your head in no time. If you are now or ever were a fan of Fat Wreck's brand of pop-punk... definitely check these guys out

For Fans of: The Flatliners, Strung Out

CLASSIFIED – HANDSHAKES AND MIDDLE FINGERS – CD

Canadian rapper Classified releases his fourteenth album! I’m not joking either.

A Career that started way back in 1995 has seen this self made Emcee work his way up from humble beginnings to achieve widespread commercial success over the past 3 years.

Starting out independently he forged a name for himself gaining a fanbase with each new release.

He’s featured and performed with the best in Canada and is now his punching his weight with the American Hip Hop scene. Known for his uncompromising lyrics, Classified isn’t content talking about the run of the mill Hip Hop subjects, he delves a lot deeper which leads to an interesting listen.

For Fans of: Swollen Members, Ill Bill
