Tahuna Breaks are pleased to announce that UK Producers Crazy P will be co-producing their new album due for release later this year.
The band have been hunkered down in the studio over the past 6 months working on and polishing brand new material. Having continued to push the boundaries on the live stage they are now looking to transfer the sound of their progressive live act over to their much-awaited forthcoming release.
Due later this year, Tahuna Breaks' latest will feature new material and reincarnated tracks from their back catalogue. The band will be joined at the helm by UK Producers Crazy P and the new tracks will reflect the band's progression and focus toward the more dance-orientated funk side of their varied musical blend.
With seven members, the group's live act is energetic, raw and large. It combines aspects of the 60's, 70's and 80's and is influenced by artists as varied as James Brown to Daft Punk. The band are well known for being unafraid to mix genres and since their last album in 2009 (Black, Brown and White) the band have been honing their sound on stage encompassing elements of funk, disco, soul, live electronics and roots. Fans of their live act have already noticed the band's shift towards a sound that is bigger, darker and heavier.
"We didn't just wake up one day and change," says vocalist Marty Greentree, "we have developed from playing live to a range of crowds at shows over the last two years and seeing them respond to our funkier, up-beat, disco-tinged tracks. The new sound will appeal to those people who also enjoy more dance influenced music."
The band has been, and will continue to road test the new live tracks at several shows in and around the country this winter prior to release later this year.
