When Neil Finn and his wife Sharon first embarked on some late night musical musings, they were unaware the ideas they were creating would be quite so magical. From these relatively humble beginnings, Pajama Club was born. The band, which also includes Sean Donnelly (SJD), now introduce themselves to the world with the debut video for lead single, Tell Me What You Want and the release of their self-titled album on September 12.

Pajama Club began as a private after-dinner racket to fill an empty nest. With their two sons, musicians in their own right, off and away into the big old world, Neil and Sharon Finn found themselves home alone with time, a sensible supply of red wine, copious musical instruments and a 16-track tape recorder on their hands.

"I'd always had a hankering to play the drums, Sharon's had a similar attraction to the bass," says Neil. "We were having a great old time making noise but we didn't think too much about it until we started playing some of it back and found ourselves dancing."

The tub-thumping Tell Me What You Want was first to find its feet: a heavy breathing tete-a-tete that opened a range of vocal possibilities. The video, directed by Jason Dempsey and Chris Stapp is available to view online now. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDff0Mjvij8

Joined by former Grates drummer Alana Skyring in their live line-up, Pajama Club have gone from toying around to a fully-fledged and excitingly fresh band. No longer restricted to the after-dinner confines of Neil and Sharon’s music room, Pajama Club have been busy touring and playing to full rooms in the UK in recent months.

Pajama Club’s debut album will be available from all good record stores and digitally from September 12, 2011.
