Midnight Youth have unveiled details of their hugely anticipated second album ‘WORLD COMES CALLING’ – which follows the 2009 Platinum debut ‘THE BRAVE DON’T RUN’. Produced by Midnight Youth & Andrew Buckton (D4, Stereogram), ‘WORLD COMES CALLING’ is preceded by the single, “Who Said You’re Free” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHuiEGgw1YM

Hard as it is to believe, it’s been three years since we last heard from the group. Their ubiquity in the mainstream on the release of THE BRAVE DON’T RUN saw them pick up awards which included ‘Best Rock Album’ and ‘Best Group’ at the 2009 New Zealand Music Awards, while the single ‘The Letter’ collected the award for Most Played Song on NZ radio in 2009. The singles ‘All On Our Own’ and ‘Cavalry’ gave the charts a shake-up, bringing stadium-filling hooks and rousing choruses back into fashion.

“The difference between this album and the first album ‘THE BRAVE DON’T RUN’ is that we’ve had much more experience, a thousand times more beers and done a thousand times more live shows,” says lead guitarist and backing vocalist Simon Oscroft.

“The first time we turned the album into a show and this time around we turned the show into an album,” explains drummer Aidan.

To achieve the live sound, the band took over Auckland’s iconic York St recording studio where they recorded as a group to ensure they captured the full force, energy and impact of their new songs.

‘WORLD COMES CALLING’ boasts a fierce rock evolution within Midnight Youth. The band are currently performing in support of The Rugby World Cup:
