Wellington grunge band Enemy Empire is stoked to announce the release of its debut EP on 9 May, 2012. The band, in cooperation with the New Zealand Music Commission, will release the EP completely free for online download in support of the almighty New Zealand Music Month.
The EP will available for download, along with extra materials such as printable album art from www.enemyempire.bandcamp.com/. Enemy Empire will celebrate the release with a live show, also free and also on 9 May, 2012 at Medusa, the venue where the band hit the stage for the very first time last year. The release will promoted in part by card-sized flyers displayed at independent music stores, cafes, music venues and other similar locations.
From the band:
“Being new on the scene, we would rather have more people cranking our music at this point than worrying about record sales. We also strongly support the concept of New Zealand Music Month and were looking for a way to ante up and contribute. In the end we thought, ‘What the hell, let’s just get this bad boy out there’ and do it as a part of Music Month.
We contacted the Music Commission with the idea and got an awesome response - help, advice, support, you name it, they were totally BOSS. We’re pretty excited to be doing this, both for Enemy Empire and for NZ Music Month.” – Daniel Bohan
