DNK World Music artist Donell Lewis has fast tracked in the last year from a relatively unknown artist to one of the best R&B singers NZ has to offer, leading to his debut solo EP Missing My Love being set for release on 12 October.
Donell’s chart hitting debut single ‘Put It On Me’ featuring label mate Ricky Okay, and hot new Top 20 NZ single and title track ‘Missing My Love’ (featuring Gold Coast-based upcoming rapper Fortafy), have both shot into high rotation at radio, earning him rave reviews and much deserved recognition from fans andmedia. Donell’s Missing My Love EP features six tracks (including both recent singles) and has been produced by DNK World Music Platinum producers, DLove and Karnell.
Donell has come a long way from starting out in his home-made studio, producing beats and recording songs. Fast-forward a year, and ‘Put It On Me’ has reached high rotation at all urban radio, as well as featuring on The Edge’s Top 20. The track hit the Official NZ Singles Chart at number 5, is currently sitting at over 60,000 views on YouTube. ‘Put It On Me’ was the lead single for DNK World Music’s compilation album The Academy, which gained the crew spots on television, numerous radio interviews and magazine features.
Capitalising on his recent rise to fame, DNK World Music organised the ‘Back to Schools’ tour throughout August/September for Donell to promote his up and coming EP Missing My Love and release of the title track and latest single ‘Missing My Love’. The school tour was a chance for Donell to connect with some of his biggest fans and thank them for their ongoing support, by giving them an exclusive taste of both his latest and unreleased singles.
Donell Lewis’ Missing My Love EP will be available from all good music retailers from October 12 2012.
