London based Kiwi band Agent are pleased to announce the release of their new single "Made of Gold" in New Zealand on the 8th of October. "Made of Gold" is the first single from Agent’s long awaited new album "Kingdom of Fear" which is due for release in 2013.
Agent features James Donaldson on vocals and guitar, Matt Flower on bass and backing vocals, and Jordan Tredray on drums.
"Made of Gold" is a driving high-energy, hook-laden rock song which captures the more accessible end of the Agent sound yet still holds a hint of the more progressive nature of their music. In the past Agent have been likened to Tool, A Perfect Circle, System of A Down, Karnivool, and Muse and in this track James Donaldson’s vocals are also somewhat reminiscent of Jon Toogood from Shihad.
The single was recorded and produced by Paul Matthews of I Am Giant fame at his London studio and the song was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York by renowned mastering engineer Tom Coyne (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, I Am Giant). The single’s video was directed and produced by Don Rutherford and Kieran Humphries of Sweet pictures TV in Battersea, London.
"Made of Gold has several meanings but in short it is a tale of someone that casts a golden boy outwards image but really is rotten to the core....and what happens as a consequence" - says vocalist and chief lyricist James Donaldson.
Agent are fired up about the release of their new single in New Zealand with a view to returning home for a tour in 2013.
"Made of Gold" will be available via iTunes, http://www.amplifier.co.nz/, and all major online music retailers.
