"These East Londoners [via Australasia] love woozy distortion but add hooks reminiscent of early Nineties indie bands such as New FADS and Teenage Fanclub.” - THE TIMES (UK)

New Zealand born guitarist/singer Sasha Carlson (Coshercot Honeys) is a serial vacationer. During one such vacation, he met Aussie born Toto Vivian, and the two bonded over a strong love of life and music. Spending the summer in the idyllic setting of Byron Bay, the two soaked in the sun and spit it out into a bunch of well-crafted, neo-shoegaze, pop songs. With summer coming to a close, Sasha convinced Toto to help him continue his vacation by taking a trip to London. After hanging out in the East End of London, they decided to make the vacation a permanent one. Joining up with Brit Thomas Beal (bass), they took up in a Hackney bedroom to self-record. Booked for their first gig, they had one problem – no drummer. Flying their pal drummer Jacob Moore (The Checks) in from New Zealand a week before the gig, SPLASHH,named after a favourite childhood water park, got off to a furious start and has never looked back.
"Like Bobby Gillespie flicking disco biscuits into J Mascis' mouth across Stephen Malkmus' kitchen table" -NME
Over the last 12 months, the London based psychedelic rock quartet have supported the likes of Parquet Courts, Palma Violets, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Japandroids; with a support slot for no less than the The Rolling Stones to come in early July. Over the last 12 months SPLASHH have toured the UK endlessly including performances at last year’s Great Escape, Latitude Festival, and NME Generation Next Tour. This year they have completed a massive tour of the USA, with an appearance at this year’s edition of SXSW. SPLASHH are also due to tour Australia in late June - around the release of their debut album.
When the band was recently asked to describe themselves in 5 words, they hit the nail on the head: "Distorted grooves. Dreamy nostalgia. Melody."
