Experimental darkwave duo Blak Sea are releasing their first single Elephant in anticipation of their first full-length album Now Then.
Hailing from Auckland and comprising of two local artists, the group have self-produced their first full-length album in a boutique home studio before being mastered by another local musician, Morgan Allen.
Elephant, comprising of a lumbering bassline, 808 drum hits, and Johnny Greenword-esque guitar, evokes the very melancholy of Placebo; the singer's desperation in defiance of the refrain's wistful poetry.
Anonymity is key as remaining relatively unknown is important to blak sea, who prefer to focus on producing good art above all else.
Now Then is to be released in the days before Christmas.
