Your Dream Gig is part of ‘ASBmusicnz’ – the partnership between ASB and Universal Music New Zealand. It gives school-leavers the opportunity to work on creative projects with internationally-recognised Kiwi artists.

David Dallas’ Your Dream Gig opportunity involves helping him develop, direct and edit a skateboarding video in January 2018. The video will feature well-known, Auckland-based DEF skate crew and will be set to one of David Dallas’ latest music tracks.

The video will debut on David Dallas’ social media channels in February.

David Dallas announced the competition on his Facebook page today, encouraging filmmakers and fans to submit entries to asb.co.nz/david-dallas by January 7, 2018.  Winners will be announced on January 8.

Your Dream Gig with David Dallas is open to all New Zealanders aged 17 – 25 years old with an ASB bank account. Winners will be invited to help David Dallas create the skateboarding video in Auckland, and join him at the video’s private launch party - plus they’ll receive $2,000 cash to help kick-start their career.

David Dallas says: “Growing up I was super into my favourite songs being used in skateboarding videos, so I’m stoked to be working with the DEF crew and ASB’s Your Dream Gig to find an aspiring filmmaker to help me put a skate video together, and kick-start their career.”

David Dallas is the second of four artist-led Your Dream Gig projects available to New Zealand-based students. The first will see a young Kiwi design DJ duo SACHI’s Bay Dreams festival outfit.  Further exclusive experiences will be announced early next year.

ASB general manager marketing Shane Evans says ASB is delighted to offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences to talented young Kiwis.

“There is a lot of creative talent here in New Zealand and we’re excited to give young Kiwis exclusive opportunities to do what they love with talented, well-known music artists,” Evans says.
