Band & Musician News - Racing releases new single and video, 'Motel Pool'
15 December 2017 - 0 Comments
Racing have today released
Motel Pool, the
first single from their upcoming debut album, due for release in 2018.
A brutal and sassy statement track,
Motel
Pool was self-produced at Roundhead Studios in Auckland and
mixed by Dave Eringa (UK) of Kylie Minogue and Manic Street Preachers fame.
The song is a cauldron of groove that's stirred by a bombastically bent bass
line. Its translucent falsetto lyrics, spicy guitar and thundering drums all
combining to brew the dizzying melodic catch phrases we’ve come to expect from Racing.
These boys are serving it up, it’s hot, dive in!

Racingis made up of long-time collaborators Ed Knowles and Sven Pettersen - two
crucial parts of the colossus that was
The
Checks. Completing the line-up is two other heavy hitters from
the Kiwi alt scene, Daniel Barrett, formerly of
Sherpa and Izaak Houston, formerly of Space Creeps.
With their unique blend of psychedelic indie-rock and dance, Racing has been hailed
as the future of New Zealand’s thriving indie music scene.
