Wellington-based dub-rock band
Tunes of I are proud to announce the release of
Redbone Redubbed, their personal take on the Grammy Award winning song
Redbone by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover).
After performing their version of the single live across multiple shows in both Australia and New Zealand, the band have heeded the call of their fans to record their own version which is being released across all the usual platforms today.
The single was recorded at Surgery Studios with maestro Lee Prebble and mixed and mastered by Mike Gibson. The artwork follows the same design as previous releases Kiss The Sky and the Wicked Ways EP courtesy of Gina Kiel Illustration.
The release kicks off a busy start to August for Tunes of I, with their new NZ on Air funded video Kiss The Sky premiering exclusively on Australian media site Hhhhappy on August 1, and the band departing for their debut headlining Australian tour made possible by 123Agency on August 2. The band will play three shows across three nights in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in a whirlwind weekend return to the same cities they visited supporting Ocean Alley on their sold out tour earlier this year.
The band hope that Redbone Redubbed is the gift their fans have been waiting for, and promise further releases before the end of 2018.
