New Single for Cheshire Grimm due for release 16 November

25 October 2018 - 0 Comments

Don’t Stress . . . It’ll get better soon, I guess . . .

So Much For The Summer is a solemn account from Cheshire Grimm’s dual leading ladies - the painful experience of losing loved ones to suicide. Written at ‘band camp’ in Raglan and recorded at Mordecai Studios Hamilton, favourite local gloom-rock provocateurs will have you induced with their quaking new single. Guitarist Lora Thompson entices you in right from the start with her mournful opening chords as Kat Waswo’s detached croon acclimatises you to the band’s unique brand of nocturnal story-telling. The front women of Cheshire Grimm simply won’t be beaten when it comes to soulful, grunge-inflected harmonies.

Drummer Craig Gilliver’s stick work effortlessly anchors the neck-snapping groove of the chorus as the clouds part and the sun is finally allowed to trickle through. The best part about SMFTS is that is doesn’t matter if you’re on-board with the song’s sentiment or you’re just looking for something a little more sophisticated for your playlist – thanks to Cheshire Grimm, there is no winning. See their accompanying video for more - featuring amateur wrestlers and cake smashing for your entertainment.

So Much For The Summer is due for release on November 16.
