Post punk indie-rockers Spawts are back with the emphatic track Piss In The Wind, the third single from their upcoming debut album AVI. A driving garage rock anthem for millennials in an era of unhinged power structures and bloated political egos, Piss In The Wind is out today on all streaming services.

Spawts call it for what it is in this latest single, venturing into darker harmonic textures with a driving rhythmic energy pushing forward throughout. Gritty electric guitar and cutting lyricism smear a deceptively raw and reckless outer layer on the face of this multi-layered track, as Spawts provide an unfiltered taste of what is yet to come from their debut album AVI, out this July 26.
Written in the living room of a Mt Wellington flat, AVI is a product of ideals clashing with environment.
A feeling of isolation and anxiety, stemming from playing and writing in a cold, mouldy flat, permeates the thick guitars and loud rhythm sections of Spawts’ post-punk based sound. The sense of being slightly removed from even their own beloved scene on K Road found Jamie Hannah and Kieran Ormandy reaching consciously to St Kevin's arcade, and in particular the underground venues, as a touchstone for their sound.
