There is a lot of news in the world of Ivy Blue today. A new album, two new songs on the way, and a tour of Europe and New Zealand starting very soon.
New Album: Elstow Stars
Ivy Blue's 8th studio album Elstow Stars will be released on August 14th 2019, with pre-orders due to begin on July 5th 2019. Written about Ivy Blue (real name James Brodie)'s experiences growing up in Te Aroha, New Zealand and reflecting on recent revelations and events; this album (the follow-up to 2018’s Patience) is a hotly-anticipated return to Ivy Blue's rock roots with some of the loudest songs that Ivy Blue have created in years and the occasional ballad or two thrown in too.
The album was recorded during several secret sessions in Hamilton and Te Aroha, New Zealand between October 2018 and early May 2019. This is also the first Ivy Blue album to not be mixed or mastered by Ivy Blue, with the album being mixed by multiple producers in multiple locations around the world (including New York, Chile, and Italy to name a few of the places that the album is being mixed in). This album about a country town and one boy’s big dreams is also a global album of new ideas and innovations and we can't wait for you to hear it.
Over the weekend, a new song from the album called Miracles. Produced by JVH Productions in Aberdeen, MS, USA; the song talks about his mental health journey, using the idea of illusions and trying to understand what they mean. You can stream the song on YouTube here.
A song called Wild Horses will be released on July 1st 2019 via YouTube in the run-up to the album’s pre-order period.

About Ivy Blue
Ivy Blue (real name James Brodie) is an alternative musician from Te Aroha, New Zealand. Brodie performs live with a guitar, a loop-station, and two microphones. However, over the course of eight albums and an EP- Ivy Blue (along with his mysterious friends who play on his albums) has proven that his music is far-reaching and can relate to many walks of life.
From his debut album Reveal and his hard-hitting break-through Illusions right through to recent material such as Present Shapes and 21 and Patience; Ivy Blue has shown his skills in rock, pop, electronica, and alternative music, forming a back-catalogue that is both varied and well-loved by his fan base; despite battling Autism and ADHD- neurological disorders that make him see the world through a different set of eyes. Despite this, Brodie is a man of few words and allows his music and amazing live shows to speak for him- with Brodie very rarely appearing in his own music videos and giving very few interviews to support his work, which is a testament to not only his varied back-catalogue; but his subsequent success.
Ivy Blue's 8th studio album Elstow Stars, a return to his rock and acoustic roots following a period of experimentation is out August 14th 2019. On top of this, James is preparing to embark on Homecomings 2019 Tour of Europe and New Zealand, with a mix of festival and headline dates confirmed. There are many more adventures that lie ahead of Ivy Blue on the long and broken roads; but this is not the end of the journey. Because Ivy Blue is only just getting warmed up.
