Mo Muse Releases 'The First Generation' - Debut Album Out Now

27 September 2019 - 0 Comments

Somali-Kiwi rapper Mo Muse today shares his debut album The First Generation LP, out today on Raiza Biza's independent label PAN/GEA and available now on all streaming platforms.

Speaking about his debut project, Muse says:

"It's difficult to put into words, the amount of time, effort, focus, heart and vulnerability that went into my debut project. I'll spare you the details. I started this project about 2 years ago with no real direction. A time where I was still an unpolished artist unsure about whether I had any future in music. It has since then manifested itself into a carefully woven story. A story too often ignored and untold. A story of a first generation kid navigating his way between two worlds. Not quite sure whether he belongs in either.

You know it's crazy because I only realised after I finished the project that every person involved in it, from the features to the producers and engineers, are all first generation kids. All with similar stories. I'm releasing this LP on my birthday, but I feel like this project is a lot bigger than me. This is for us."

The 13 track record features verses from the likes of Raiza Biza, Abdul Kay, Blaze The Emperor and more, as well as his stand out 2019 track What's Real? released earlier last month.

Over the last couple of years, the young AmmoNation rapper has been on a steady rise, with his most recent appearance on RedBull Musics ‘64 Bars’ series curated by hip-hop legend David Dallas.

Collaborations in the past have included the likes of Raiza Biza, Unchained XL, Big Sima and more. Muse speaks with an airy nostalgia, induced from the early 2000’s golden age of alternative hip-hop, bringing a humble sense of maturity and emotiveness to his works.
