Featuring Laine - Falling is a killer dance anthem, which sees Chores turning up the dial with live instrumentation and a larger sound overall.
Written by Tulliah Goldsworthy, Chores (Sam Saunders and Thom Simmons) and producer Simon Moro, Falling is a song about “unrealistic beauty standards… the false personas and skewered lives and lifestyles portrayed through social media”.
“It’s about how people try and measure themselves and compare themselves to all the aspects across social media,” says Thom. “Their lifestyle versus the lives they see on social media… their looks versus the look on social media.”
The track kicks off a new chapter for Chores, who won the 2018 Vodafone New Zealand Music Award for ‘best electronic act’. The duo relocated from Auckland to Melbourne, where they have been hunkered down in their new studio working with leading Australian producer Simon Moro. Falling is the first taste of Chores’ new material and is released via Melbourne-based indie dance label, Double Up.
Chores have a string of hits to their name, including Away feat. Omega Levine, Surrender feat. Abby Wolfe and Got Itfeat. Sharnar. The tracks received widespread play on Top 40 radio in New Zealand.
