Milk was formed emotively when the bassist Anthony Archer introduced songwriters Adam Jackson and Greg Allen at a bar a few years back. The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction both are transformed. There must have been something in this mix as the first words spoken between the two of them was "Get F#*ked". However the substances settled and the two found the common ingredient of music. Jackson loved death metal and Allen equally enjoyed unplugged albums and it was on this unlikely basis, and under the influence of snake whiskey that Milk was formed. It seemed like a good idea at the time...
Milk is a heavy melodic rock band that is intensely original with its creativeness operating well within the mainstream. However, with all its members having different threads of backgrounds it does weave a colourful tapestry of influences. Its ecleticness ranges from Tool to Bowie… from Gomez to Jeff Buckley. Quite difficult to pin down...yet distinctively Milk. Radio has called them "New Zealand's answer to Tool". Perhaps a description they once heard and always liked is "A very, very electric Cure".
Milk first debuted in the Official New Zealand Top 40 Albums on 26 April 2021 with the album Iii. There is one entry by Milk in the charts.
