Phoenix Foundation Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2005 10:14 pm Today was the open day for potential Victoria University students in Wellington. I was pretty averagely excited about the course sessions they were displaying all day (I don't really see myself attending Vic. Although, some talks were interesting eg. Film, Media studies, Philosophy)...Anyway... The part I was most excited about was seeing the free live concert, which was the magnificant, Phoenix Foundation! Being a fan for a while now, I rung 'Pegasus' through my ears just before I left at 7.30 in the morning. And, what can I say? they absolutely went off! Playing a full hour set of songs from rocking out, to the intimate slower moments. 'The Posh Tiger' and 'Slightest shift in the Weather' being some of my favourites to sing along too. A bit of dissapointment in the crowd as no one was really getting up to dance, which in a way prevented me from bursting out. But constant nodding of the head, and tapping of the foot would satisfy me. What even more satisfied me was getting lead vocalist/gutarist Lukasz Buda to sign my photo of the band.Cheers! Overall, the Phoenix Foundation are THE band to get into if you want something fresh, beautiful, relaxing, and above all, New Zealand, then I definately recommend you give them a listen. |
