What the hell??!! Why is popa Jacks closing down?!!!!!! That place is the only reason I go to town! I don't know of any other places around Queen St that play decent rock music..plz help! If you guys know of any decent rock bars round queen st let me know...Othawise I guess im gonna be going to K.RD from now on!

It's Papa Jacks, not the chip.

Papa Jacks to me was somewhere to go after a show. At the end of a show, if I was still in the mood to be out, I'd head down to Papa Jacks with half of the others at the show and go drink with them/the bands afterwards.
So when Papa Jacks is gone for good, there'll still be the shows to go to, just no bars to meet up with everyone afterwards. In saying that, I'm sure there'll be more people willing to use their house as a place for an after party.

Otherwise the closest bar I can think of is.. I think it's called Hysteria? It's the old Rock Bar on K Road. They play a lot of metal.

word on the street is that they're redecorating, moving the stage and that sorta thing right now.... ready to open in a few months

or perhaps i'm just trying to bring peoples hopes up

yea they are renovating, and they will re-open, but who knows if the atmosphere will be the same after.. thats what made it what it was.

im not sure if it will still be papa jacks, im not sure if it will be any good, but i do know that some of the staff will be the same. other than that... who knows

edit: also I think they are leaving the cargo net in, all the seats and i think all the jds bottles, but that is secondhand info...

the seats? they've had different lay outs over the years. i remember for a while a few years a go there was no dance floor and booths only
