Shoreyouth Bands competition 05'

Hey everyone,

Entry forms for the Shoreyouth High School bands competition are open as of last week.

High school bands from all over the North Shore will compete in the competitions fourth year running.

They will be competing for the final prize of a recording in New Zealands Premier recording facility York Street Studios. Valued up to $1500.

The heats for the compeition will be held at the Takapuna War memorial hall on Oct 15th and the Albany community hall on October 22nd, with the finals being held at the North Harbour Netball Stadium in Onewa road on October 28th.

Any band or contemporary artists can enter by conacting Strahan at Youth Liaison on 486 4820 ro by e-mail [email protected].

Huge ups to York Street Studios and Mainline music for sponsoring us this year!!!

Anyone heard of this before...slash keen to come along or enter?

yeah my band entered the first year it was ever run when it was called the Local Output Bands Competition.
We kicked ass in the heats and then the runner up band ended up beating us in the finals. At least in our hearts we were the true winners...

Wicked, we (The Suspects) played in this last year - very untidy performance but a good time was had by all. Cya there.

Come on up and coming shore bands - this is a great way to get yourself some awesome exposure and show off your stuff ! .. kick start your music career by entering the North Shore Bands Comp. They always bring great crowds, and show off some wicked music.

Alot of great bands have emerged from the shore bands comps ..

only last time we didnt get to record at york street! anyone who doesnt enter this comp is an idiot.

Yeh man My old band ubiquitous was lucky enough to record there last year aye and man...its such a wicked studio. Just being there was awsome.

In the time we were there we got to talk to members of goldenhourse and 48may about their musical lives and get mixed by the same dude who did Feelers, Blindspott haha and even 50Cent when he came to New Zealand.

It a great opportunity for bands who want to gig more and make contacts!

both our singles were done in York St. The studio is clearly the best in NZ.
The gear, sound, and service at York St are far beyond anybody elses.

I recommend them (if you can afford it).

The gear, the sound...you missed the best parts...the xbox and the coffee machines!!!!
