No issues with hairstyles or clothes. It's the smell of stale B.O. drenched with patchouli that makes makes me want to puke. Their arrogance, rudeness, lack of professionalism and "the world owes me" attitude doesn't warm my heart either.

I don't give a fuck what you look like or what your spiritual or philosophical bent is, just bring a halfway decent attitude and we''ll bend over backwards to make it a good experience all round.

come north from Wellington 90 mins to Palmerston North and come to Guvnors (on Rangitikei St.,) mostly Friday nights, a good mix of local and out of town acts feed through. P. Nth is renowned for "swamp" and "mutant" music, and for years has been the 'capital' heart of freaky loud shit and noise. nowadays there is alot of metal, some hardcore, some rocknroll, and emo, a whole lot of do it my way shit, which can often relate to a many crossover thing. a hub of alternative good shit basically. there alot of women in bands too, it is the home of the stomach, all-ages venue and rec. studio, possibly the cheapest in the hemisphere (a council+freak initiative/funded). there is areal community here musically and with the govt funding of the last 5 yrs, it has really flourished.
Palmerston North is a must-stop on yr travels if its about live music.

Hey Katipocafe!
great name for a venue!
where exactly are you located in W?
how do I get a hold of you to book a gig with no contacts on your profile?

you have to check out the Ambassador in Auckland too, for style/class, creativity, good attitude and a totally wild time: the owner is Peter Roche (famed light installation artist), who has real love for all things fun and wild: and Naomi the barmaid is wick-ed too! a whole lot of spirit in that place: possibly the best place in the country to play in terms of management attitude.

Hi Happy

I see you're enquiring about Altitude in Hamilton... it's an okay venue, probably one of the best for seeing out of town bands. There are some smaller places that host some interesting bands too, like cue bar, which has started having bands, and diggers. It really depends on the genre. Are you gigging or watching (sorry, I only skimmed through the posts)?
