I don't see what the complaints are about - me, I'm totally stoked at the chance to see Iggy, White Stripes, Kings of Leon, 2 Many DJs... and heaps of others! Not to mention Common!!

I guess it's kind of an indie lineup, maybe you guys were after something more mainstream?

true, the line ups not that bad, could be better, im just stoked the mars volta are coming back, now maybe I could get a chance to tell them how cool they were before they got big..... its quite an indie line up yeah?, good that theres no major players.

they should replace afi with something cool, like blood brothers, that would scare all the posers away. F**k I hate posers.. doesnt matter though, jokes on them cause someone else is secretly f**king their drugged up first time e taking girlfriends while they're busy flaunting their disposable tans and pink wife beaters.

I think i might get kicked off this forum..

There may not be any really huge bands coming, but I'm looking forward to seeing Autozamm, Die! Die! Die!, and The Mars Volta (this will be cool) ... and I've heard Wolfmother are quite good, but I'm not sure...

I think Franz Ferdinand will be fun. And while I don't *really* like the White Stripes, I'll prob watch them.

But my real question is who would you rather see at a Big Day Out?
(I heard the organiser has now had all the bands that he's wanted to have play there, so I guess it's up to US!)...

Ok, I'll start:

Tomahawk (although I think this is highly unlikely)
Tool (again, probably won't happen)
Audioslave would be cool to see
Primus! - (are they even still together??)

... and OOS of course!

Ok - there are more, but I gotta go to band practice now...

IGGY POP!!!

mars volta--- the go! team--- the bats--- white stripes---

yeaaah!!

die die die! franz ferdinand!

who would i want to see at the big day out?
well i'd probably rather see my fav bands at proper concerts where they play a full length set and its indoors etc
but for the BDO --- well i'd love it if PJ HARVEY came again --- and BILLY CORGAN and THE CARDIGANS and yeah ... ohh BECK!! TORI AMOS maybe
oh and KRAFTWERK and CHICKS ON SPEED and PEACHES! werent they great
last one CRADLE OF FILTH haha, yeah that'd be cool.

Worst. BDO. Ever.

I can't believe that "Band" the white stripes are playing -_-
If they headline over Iggy Pop, it will be the end of BDO for me.

Worst Big Day Out

Ever.

To continue the new thread, i would be really keen if Pennywise (or as a matter of fact any decent international punk or ska band) came to the BDO. Total bummer bout AFI not coming. And if the chili peppers came, well...

From the BDO PR People:

Don’t get hysterical – THE WHITE STRIPES are most certainly performing at BIG DAY OUT next Friday 20 January at Ericsson Stadium

As stated on their website last week:

“The White Stripes are unfortunately postponing their upcoming Japanese tour dates because Jack White is suffering from an acute vocal chord problem.

As part of his treatment, the doctors have instructed Jack not to speak or sing for the next 2 weeks.

We sincerely apologise to our Japanese fans and friends and hope to reschedule dates as soon as we can.

For our friends in New Zealand and Australia, the band looks forward to seeing you at the Big Day Out.
