ok through my travels in the Interweb i have found PANDORA

type in a band that you like, and it buildas you a radio station that plays music which it deems to be similar

its pretty awesome, and to register for free (but u gotta find a pesky US Postal code - i used 90210 lol)

only no kiwi music.... but im sure it would be good to help develop musical tastes and influences and see what others are doing...
