RE: SAE Posted: Sat Jan 28, 2006 12:35 am I did SAE in 2002, and my flatmate did SAE and just finished end of 2005 - The place, equipment and course has improved immensely over the last 3 years due to new studio management and huge amounts of upgrades. SAE gives you a good introduction to recording etc, but I you learn mostly by doing it yourself, reading all you can and experimenting. Having said that, I don't think I would be running my own Studio today if I hadn't done SAE, so I reccommend it, but also say that you have to do lots of your own work once you finish the course to get to professional standard, and keep up to date with the new technology coming out all the time. |

RE: SAE Posted: Sat Jan 28, 2006 12:46 pm I am at SAE right now, until April. Its the best thing I ever did because I am really interested in that sort of stuff (keep in mind that everyone's interests are different). It is fun, and relativly easy if you stay on top of things and do the work and hand in your assignments on time. The tutors know their sh*t and make it easy to understand, and are generally really cool people. If you are interested in music, or the recording industry, I would definitly recomend it. RE: SAE Posted: Sat Jan 28, 2006 1:35 pm Not at all. You just need something shit like shool certificate math, and a few others... They teach you how to read music there, but no music knowledge at all is required. |
