i was listening to some bowling soup and their song punk rock 101 came on and i thoort it was "leather and tatoos" 48May completely ripped Bowling for soup off, listen to it and tell me what yous think. 48May still, rock though

48 may don't rip off other bands as much as Goodnight Nurse rip off Blink 182. Sure, you're allowed to be influenced by other people, but... it seems to me that Goodnight Nurse are trying to BE Blink 182 And they're not even good...

but if you listen to goodnight nurse then blink, you'll see that their music doesn't have identicaly riffs and tunes. They're the same sound but yet they're different. I guess it's all good to copy every now and then, i mean....there's thousands of bands in this world and it's impossible to make a song without it sounding like someone elses.

Yeah, but when you can't be bothered writing a song and just play 'Blink 182's Dammit' backwards and add some new lyrics, take it to rockquest then your not going to get anywhere in a hurry are you? Cause one of our bands last year did that..

One of the songs we played i wrote 2 days before rockquest, because one of the songs we originally decided to yous we thought sounded to uhh dark, so i wrote a new song, we learnt it that night and it's turned out to be our best song.lol. it's called "So long" the lyrics are on my bands profile on here, search "wasting away" i think i did quite well, wrote the lyrics, guitarin, tune all in 13 hours lol

The art for many bands like goodnight nurse is more to do with writing music that people want to hear. They do this because they enjoy entertaining. That's what they do. And they're good at it!

I never once heard goodnight nurse say they were the most original band in the world. They're influenced by pop punk..... it's going to sound similar. Sounds pretty logical to me.

Try listening to Pink Floyd all your life and see if you can write a metal hit. It doesn't work that way. Instead, you'd write a song that sounded like pink floyd.

excatly what Andrew said, man. I mean i tend to find when i'm writing a song i sometimes get ideas from some of my favourite songs, you wanna write stuff you know people are gonna like and not be like "wtf? this is shit, we prefer blah blah"

Yeah, that rocks dude. Josh (our guitarist) can just read lyrics and make shit (and it's good shit) up on the spot. It's wicked to just watch him do it aye..

Our school has its own music studio so dude if your interested i could send you our songs at the end of the year when the cd comes out..?

what are u ppl so worried about 48 may suk ass, they have no skill and are just a boy band thingy formed by sum rich studio manager guy (sorta like backstreet boys fused with simple plan, get the picture) personnaly im shocked at how you ppl who who even appreciate them can think it is gud music.
it's just a pop punk gimmick made to attract the ladies who care more about how they look than how they sound.
it's all just something that attracts the mainstream market because they can steal sum1s old song and make these stupid asses think its their stuff.
it's all just a big sack of crap honestly.
