I have been advised today that Guv'nors in Palmerston North is no longer having gigs there. Not only that, but they have told the 3 months of current bookings that they have to find another venue to play at. This was a decision that was made by the new management.

This affects international act Sabot, who were going to play here on 10 March, and Ruptus Jack who were coming here with Australian band Tenpenny Joke on 7 April. Both of these bands are currently seeking alternatives and we will keep you up to date on what happens.

To many people of Palmerston North, Guv'nors was not just a live music venue and it wasn't just a pub or a bar. It was an institution, and it was one of the only live music venues in Palmerston North. It's a pity that the management of Guv'nors did not seem to realise this...
