Palmy Blows, Shihad Rocks!

Palmerston North is world famous in New Zealand for a few things... it's proportion of population aged 15-25, it's square and the wind. All three were present in the square this afternoon, but the wind failed to put a dent into the legondary Shihad's performance to a crowd numbering in the thousands.

Mention should also be made of the supporting acts, Twice Daily (local all girl rock act), Black Chrome (local punk/rock three piece) and Farmer Pimp (jazz/trip-hop 5-piece from Auckland). All three played excellent sets, despite being the first time on the big stage for many of them.

From my vantage point on the crowd side of the barricade I managed to snap a few pics of all of the acts. This did prove a little interesting when Shihad came on, I definately wouldn't recommend anyone trying to take pics from the mosh pit! However they did turn out surprisingly good:
