fave music video so far? Posted: Sat Mar 11, 2006 9:49 pm so what's your favourite music video you've seen this year so far? I'd have to say mine is "rose of sharyn" from Killswitch Engage, i saw that video on juice and it is fucken rad, especially the trees that are bleeding red blood from their carved wounds. |

RE: fave music video so far? Posted: Mon Mar 27, 2006 11:15 am Have to say usually my favourite vids are not in any way favourite songs, in a lot of cases I hate the song itself. Eminem makes some interesting videos as did wacko jacko in his time. Extreme's more than words, aesthetically- very basic set, black and white, cool camera work. suited the song well hence good vid. Queen's Innuendo- love the way in which the opening of the doors at the start again reflects the music. has a similar prog feel to the music and the etching of each member of the band in the style of a different artist again reflects the band, four very different though artistic personalities. Soundgarden Jesus christ pose. Taking off 'The last temptation of christ' in choice of setting and colour. bonus points for that. Lita Ford 'One shot of poison' cool lighting (think navy blue), slick production, again reflects song imagery. Alien Ant farm- Smooth criminal. very clever vid. George Michael- Faith. Simple concept, works well. Beastie boys- fight for the right to party- again totally right for the song. Roxus Jimmy Gee(sp?) nice use of what from memory looked like super 8 film with the 'story' part of the vid, gritty looking- makes for a nice contrast with the more filmic bits with the band. Judas Priest- A touch of evil. very arthouse looking vid.Nice to see a video where Halford isn't being clownish, as a teenager it was also nice to see how Tipton was doing those arpeggios in the solo, really opened up the technique for me. |

RE: fave music video so far? Posted: Mon May 1, 2006 10:35 am really, i guess you'd be a better judge of character then. But I can't help feel that Michael Murphy wasn't a poofy pop band until after NZ idol, and he's probably trying in vein to shake that off. |

RE: fave music video so far? Posted: Mon May 1, 2006 10:56 am yea I almost feel sorry for him aye. It'll take a while for him to shake the nz idol thing, but he'll always be recognised for that whatever he does. |
