At work i'm on a part-time contract and i'm getting $10.75 an hour BUT i'm working 50 hour weeks, i was talking to this guy who works there and he said i should be on a full-time ocntract, meaning i should be getting $12 an hour. Fuck if 50 hours a week is part time, i hate to see full time lol.

You are being taken for a ride by an extremely shitty employer. Are you in a Union? They could sort it out for ya. Either that or just start making waves, sounds bloody dodgy if you ask me.

adrian, as students $12 would be fucking good. not sure what job you have, but if you can get more than that your pretty fuckin lucky.

One of my jobs pays good, like 14 an hour, but the other is minimum wage, like most other student jobs. so please sit on my finger while i rotate it.

Are you sure you're not getting part-time and "casually employed" confused?

If you're on a casual contract, then you have no fixed hours of work, so you could end up doing more in a week than a full-time employee.

Most (large) companies put new staff onto casual contracts these days, makes staff budgeting easier, and allows them to get rid of problem people painlessly.

Talk to your manager, and find out.

just ask your manager what the criteria for a full time worker is, and see if you meet it, if so, ask if you can change to a full time worker.
you may have been placed on a part time contract for an assessment period?
