RE: is it wrong Posted: Sat Aug 5, 2006 12:10 am Johnson... Whats the B.Arch like? Do you do much drafting? CAD? What about building materials and stuff, do you focus much on them? or is it all just mainly design focused? |

It's fun aye! we haven't done much drafting, but I have had to do a few technical drawings to present ideas. We haven't used CAD yet but we are learning sketchup at the moment which is a basic modelling programme. I think the first few years of B.Arch is mainly design focused, and a Building Science degree would focus more on the technicalities of the building, e.g materials, heat, light, insulation etc. yeah I'm good cooks! had a hand in on friday so last week was late to bed early to rise, ya know how it is.. |

The Bachelor sounds like heaps more fun, not so structured and full of technical aspects... Though i suppose you have to learn them eventually. |

RE: is it wrong Posted: Mon Aug 21, 2006 4:34 pm yeah kind of, usually the architect has all the concepts and visions for the project, and then the engineer sorts out the technicalities. I hope |

RE: is it wrong Posted: Mon Aug 21, 2006 11:38 pm Yeah its all one big construction stepladder as far as i can tell... with EXPERIENCED architects and engineers running the show... Though engineers are more often just contracting to the architect. So the Architect and the site foreman are the big kahunas I think. Wow second time ive said big kahunas in a week. O wait make that three. |
