the only officially confirmed NZ band so far is Salmonella Dub - you'll have to wait until October to find out the rest

The first official announcement takes place on Friday the 26th September. There will likely be two more announcements following that, probably in November and December. The December one will probably be mostly NZ acts.

unfortunatley no - as posted on the BDO website this morning:

As some may have read on the forum an announcement made by a FAKE Melodie Mars, we felt it necessary to inform you that no official announcement concerning the Big Day Out line-up has yet been made.

The official announcemnt will be in October as usual. And the imposter on the forum will be banned from submitting any more posts. There is, of course, only one Melodie Mars... and she has not made an official posting on the forum since the wrap-up of this years shows in February.

I think that must be the Aussie announcement as I've been invited to the first NZ announcement on Friday the 26th September at 9am. That's organised by the Sequel (who run BDO in NZ) and it's being held at an Auckland cafe.

My brother heard on the Edge that Linkin Park are not coming as they are going to Aussie in October for the Livid Festival and don't want to travel all the way back in January. I'm gutted az.

The Edge is giving away tickets to the Livid festival all expenses paid.

Listen out!!!!!


I wish they would come when they did the Livid festival.

WELL The Edge said Linkin Park arnt comin to NZ THIS YEAR. And Yeh man Edge given away those tickets im in the draw lotsa times ;). I Heard that Linkin Park Are possibly going to come to NewZealand in January (round BDO time) and may not actually play, Fingers crossed they'll b At B.D.O....why cant they just hop over the ditch eh?!?...Livid Festival gunna b gud, nice in hot in Brissy ;)

And now for the bad news - A Perfect Circle have withdrawn from BDO... as announced on the BDO site yesterday:

'We knew it was too good to be true. Just when you feel you have the perfect line up the fickle finger of fate gets involved.

We bring you this news with a mixture of disappointment, confusion and frustration.

After previously confirming their appearance in writing, the representatives of A Perfect Circle have now advised us that for reasons too complex for us to explain, the act will not be performing at the 2004 series of Big Day Out festivals. We are still hoping to convince them to stay on the show but we felt it necessary to bring this to the attention of all concerned before tickets go on sale.

If anything changes we will update you as soon as news comes to hand.'
