Powertool Records and Jigsaw Music debuted their new Indie Club Night at the Bacio, Karangahape Road to what many within the group viewed tentatively and with somewhat of a nervous disposition. What happened turned the night into stuff of legends.

From the insane heat within the building, along with resident DJ (and from the looks of things, flavor of the month) DJ Bored Housewife throwing out a fantastic DJ set between bands, the many in attendance witnessed at times sublime energy, at other complete nihilism. Whether it be the ever tightening of Bor’tas, ripping up a new venue, the power-pop strike of Mercury Lane, the almost British Invasion 2006 melodies of Calamity Jam, or the outright destruction of equipment and surroundings from both Satan’s Little Helper and Moonlight Drive (on two seperate occasions, no doubt), the first night at Bacio set the benchmark for acts and punters alike.

If this was the first night to iron out any creases, it’s safe to say what on earth future gigs are going to be like.

Possibly the future of live music in Auckland; Indie Club will be at Bacio on Karangahape Road every Thursday, doors opening at 8pm.

I believe the bands name is Satan's Little Sister and that they are well conected in the underworld. The devil will be round for a visit if others mistakes are not compounded in future.
