Isn't it a game/virtual world?

I've deliberately stayed clear of that stuff cuz I know I'd get addicted Laughing

Yes it's a virtual world, but it's not really a game in saying that it does not really have an obvious purpose or goal.

You create an avatar and you can build things i.e homes objects etc.
anything that happens in the real world can pretty much happen in second life except you cannot be killed.

second life contains thugs, prostitutes etc and you can spend money on certain things and make money too.

about $283 U.S coverts to $1 'linden' dollar, or second life dollar.
It;s so crazy!

Anyone can sign up for free, so get into it! I'm not sure if it would be as addictive as the likes of WOW because there isn't much in it for 'normal' people apart from the socializing aspect.

Yes I think so too. It's funny that some people take it so seriously.

But! Some of those who do take it seriously earn alot of first life money from it.

I thought about it once, then quickly realised that I could make money in the real world so much easier!

Hi everyone

I am a university student at Victoria and I am studying Second Life. I need some people who play Second Life to particpate in an interview which I am holding next week. It would be awesome if any one is willing to do it. Plus I'll give you a $30 borders voucher (book store) for your time. I'll take max 2 hours. I'll assign a time and date closer to the time.

Just send me and email if your interested to this address [email protected]

Cheers Happy

Yeah, it's a MMORPG. But it's based on our world, hence the name 'Second Life'.

Not uncommon.

Apart from stopping to eat, sleep and excrete, one can pretty much live in second life, and treat it as their first life. It is not uncommon for real people to date, work, make friends and marry in second life.

And the scary part is, as technology advances and the graphics improve, the line between virtual and reality will be blurred more and more.
