RE: child abuse Posted: Thu Aug 2, 2007 1:30 pm Quote:I see it the opposite way - shows like S.S are more reflections (albiet grossly exaggerated) of current society.People were shit before TV. I see your point of view, but I also believe some people reflect the way the television characters are too. Quote:Also remember that the characters on shows like SS have no regard for the consequences of their actions. They are fictional characters!Unfortunately for some, these characters are the only role models they have. I agree, and that is another reason why some people can make decisions without thought of the consequences for others because they believe they too will be pushed to one side, like they are in SS. |

RE: child abuse Posted: Sun Aug 5, 2007 2:28 pm the poor gurl has died because selfish fucken cunts picked on a poor child who they know cant fight back. i dont give 2 fucking shts if they were raised like that they should break the fucken cycle!!!! if they are going to beat someone up they should at least pick on some1 there own size and who can fight back I think this sort of thing shows a need for ppl to b more aware to what their freinds, neighbours and relatives are doing to their kids and mayb for certain goverment funded agencies (CYFS) to try and do more about it The kid didnt ask to be brought into this world so why shuld they have to put up with all the fucken abuse jst coz of what? her family was bored and thought it would be fun to see what happens to a baby if they put in a drier? |

RE: child abuse Posted: Mon Aug 6, 2007 9:05 pm i saw on the news tonight another child has died due to being beaten, what the fuck is up with this country? I was thinking tonight is there any kind of organization that helps stop child abuse? I'm thinking when i get back to auckland i'm gonna try set up a gig and try get a few popular bands to play a gig and all proceeds will go towards this organization(if there is one?) would someone be able to let me know if there is. I mean this shit needs to come to a stand still, i myself wasn't abused but i will admit i did get some killer hidings, but i guess i deserved them. So um yea, i'm keen to help towards stopping all this. I mean i have a few bands in mind, some good mates of mine and i'm gona try get some others, hopefully they'll say yes, cos i mean it's going towards something that needs to be addressed more |

It's call CYF. It is working? Nope. http://www.stuff.co.nz/4155995a11.html You might have heard about an email petition being sent around recently, with some explicit photos attached, from a child abuse case last year. Ngatikaura Ngati was a happy three-year-old that died as a result of injuries caused by 'child abuse' over a period of weeks. Personally, I think the term 'child abuse' is mis-used. In this case, it was simply murder. See for yourself: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10439204 |

RE: child abuse Posted: Tue Aug 7, 2007 10:12 am It's something every citizen in this country (the world even) needs to work at. There's no magical solution any government can conjure up and make it go away, short of putting cameras in every household. What upsets me is I have a friend with a young son, and she was telling me she'd never felt love like she felt when he was born... yet these ungrateful pieces of trash go and get knocked up and treat their young like an unwanted pet. I'm not saying everybody goes on a witch hunt, but I think people need to look out for each other more, look for the signs, not turn the other way when some fat f**k smacks his kid around the head and yells "stop crying" at the supermarket or wherever. These people, you can bet your bottom dollar, were treated the same way as children... it's got to stop somewhere. |
