RE: subliminal messeges in songs Posted: Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:01 pm I know of loads of corny pledges to Satan in heaps of metal, mostly backmasking. There are some very complex and interesting theories surrounding Tool's "Lateralus" and "10,000 Days" albums that are worth lookin up on google. My favourite hidden thing on an album is on Mr Bungle's "Disco Volante" - The original vinyl doesn't feature the song "Secret Song" which is tacked on to the end of enother track on the album. HOWEVER... if you experiment with dropping the needle around the end of that song on the record, you'll find a hidden groove, which brings up "Secret Song". Clever sods. |

RE: subliminal messeges in songs Posted: Mon Aug 13, 2007 3:43 pm Another one bites the dust by Queen backwards says Its fun to smoke marijuana. Kind of. In fact even if you just record those words and flip the sample it says Its fun to smoke Marijuana. Its all just fluke and they generally only sound like words if you use your imagination. Totally unintentional if you ask me. Anyway these days lyrics can be so overtly obseen theres no point in trying to hide a message. |

Anyway these days lyrics can be so overtly obseen theres no point in trying to hide a messageThis is a good point - you can say just about anything these days, why hide it? Yeah, the Queen quote... "sfumokmrwana".... funny. The classic example is Judas Priest's "Better by you, better than me", which supposedly led to guys to shotgun themselves in the face. Never mind that there were TWO songs on that album that DIRECTLY dealt with suicide (Beyond the "Realms of Death" and "Hero's End" about Jimi Hendrix, "why do you have to die to be a hero"). Some twist hears "ZRWRPP FLURP WOARP" and suddenly God is talking to him through a record... PUH-LEASE! When I was a teenager I used to switch tapes backwards to see what I could find. I did various albums and found that if you listen hard enough, you'll find what you're looking for, if you use your imagination And Queen were right, it IS fun to smoke marijuana! |
