Well you can write off a majority of popular hip hop. And the entire emo scene. Just about every nu-metal band that ever existed.

Pretty much all of the modern hip hop is commercialised.
I don't think many of the modern hip hop artists are in it for the
'Music' only the money and reputation.

It fucks me off that so many people listen to that shit!

There is some good stuff like; NWA, Beastie Boys,House Of Pain and Cypress Hill but its not exactly Hip Hop. Its more around the lines of rap.

This "New wave of American Metal" or whatever they call it has been as much a disappointment as Nu Metal to me.

there's fuck loads of bands out there that sound better than mainstream bands but they prefer to stay underground and also bands that don't get the credit they deserve, for example

the amity affliction
the valley
the gataway plan

jus to name a few

Strapping Young Lad don't belong in there! BLASPHEMY!!! They've been around forever, they're not the new wave of anything.

Killswitch... are the only metalcore band I've found that I like (next to Invocation of Nehek, check them out!)
Shadows Fall are terrible. I hate this modern thrash revival stuff, it's inferior and derivative generic drivel.
Lamb of God can go jump... they've taken my favourite bits about Testament and Pantera and polarised it into boring paint-by-numbers wallpaper metal.

Ripped off riffs and guys who sing thru their fist into the mic to get the growls that their lack of testicles won't permit.

Over-produced, unoriginal and devoid of any real heaviness.

NWOAHM was supposed to bury nu-metal. Instead it has become it.
