RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Thu Sep 6, 2007 2:17 pm What that guy did was fucking amazing, he blocked every hit from one of the hardest combo in the game, then counteracted it with a combo to win. I love games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0zEl856w-I |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Thu Sep 6, 2007 3:13 pm Never really got into SF2... I was addicted to 2d platform games at the time. though Mortal Kombat was regularly played on my Megadrive. Damn, I wish I still had it! Still got my Commodore 64 though! |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Fri Sep 7, 2007 12:01 pm When I was younger my Dad got a Commodore 64 with 1541-11 floppy drive from a workmate. I recently tried to unearth it again but my dad seems to think it has gone somewhere. We had it hooked up to an old television. Goodtimes. I remember when you booted a game you had to type in the root folder C:/location/game/etc/etc I can't believe I could figure them out as, hmmm, I must've been about a ten year old. |

Please! Please?I don't have a camera but if a mate with one is around at my place I'll take one. It's the original too, the old brown model... didn't have a disk drive, I had cassette! My fav's... wow, there were so many... International Karate and Last Ninja spring to mind. But the ultimate game for me was Bruce Lee, which came out in 1984. I could probably still clock it first try. Commodore was awesome, way ahead of its time. Same with the Amiga. Check out Lemon64.com for some awesome nostalgia! |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Fri Sep 7, 2007 1:33 pm Yeah it was ahead of it's time to an extent. One of the better earlier generation computers in the marketing war. Cassette, wow, you must have a really old model. Pretty expensive stuff on near new release. I had one with the large 3 1/4 inch floppy disks, they were massive, and crashed easily haha I remember spy vs spy on my one was a good sibling rivalry provoker. Yeah, if you could get a picture up that would be sweet, haven't seen a brown one in a while. |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Fri Sep 7, 2007 2:42 pm I think our old one is buried somewhere on my parents farm! The good old cassettes, those were the days. Stuff loaded *really* fast... not! Mind you, things haven't really changed too much. We had two of those 5 1/4" drives. We had loads of games (all aquired for free), including a karate one (possibly International Karate as mentioned previously) and Winter/Summer Games! I remember those days of pixel bashing in front of the TV. Which then turned into little brother bashing lol. I had to win one way or another I think I hauled our one out in 7th form, just to see if it still went. One of the belts in the disk drive had snapped, so I chucked a rubber band in there and well, the thing still worked fine. Moved out of home, and one day Dad had a clean out, now it's buried somewhere... *sniff* |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Fri Sep 7, 2007 3:36 pm Ooooooooooh yeah Winter/Summer games!!!! Takes me back to form 1 at Intermediate school. Sleeping over at my mates place with my "crew", having turns in Winter Games, huge tournaments... exactly like guys do with Xbox/Playstation these days. The other awesome Karate one I remember was "The Way of the Exploding Fist". The first game I heard with realistic sounding punches & kicks. I used to copy games on a double cassette recorder! Had a couple of cartidges too... Pole Position 1 and 2. Anybody remember Wizard of Wor???? I think that came out in 1979!!!!! |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Sat Sep 8, 2007 2:44 pm I still have a bunch of cassettes of full games and demos from 1991-1992 that came with "Commodore Format" magazine just before the Commodore died. I wish I had some ZZap!64 mags still. |

RE: any old school street fighter fans? WATCH THIS! Posted: Sun Sep 9, 2007 6:33 pm No but I was always curious. It would be weird playing a console now, I'm so into the PC way of gaming I'd be a noob all over again |
