Yeah I'm pretty disappointed with the list of finalists.... a whole lot of bands/artists who I'd never bother buying their CDs or going to see live.

However..... here are my picks

Nokia Album of the Year:
The Mint Chicks - Crazy? Yes! Dumb! No!

Vodafone Single of the Year:
The Tutts - K (although i'm sure this was released to tv/radio in June-ish 2006 and heard it a lot more last year than this year) otherwise,
Opshop - Maybe

Vodafone People's Choice Award:
my choice isn't on the list so pass

Steinlager Pure Best Group:
The Mint Chicks - Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!

Best Male Solo Artist:
no pick

Mazda Best Female Solo Artist:
Hollie Smith - Long Player

KIWI FM Breakthrough Artist of the Year

- the song's alright, the videos average

I'm going to have a hunt around and see if I can find the full list of nominees we had. If it's not going to break any rules, I'll try and post them here. It'll be interesting for you guys to see the lists of artists the judges had to pick from for each category.

the best video award it a joke. it is picked from such a pathetic range of clips, and no where near depicts the quality of music videos being produced in new zealand today. that maybe video sucks.

it's like: hey guys I've just figured out how to use after effects, lets do it, yeah yeah = award.
