so the time is 10.32am - i've just woken up and had a shower and have started drinking canadian clubs and cokes. In about 10 hours time i'm gonna be standing in front of a stage, the curtains gonna drop, and bon jovi is gonna rock melbourne city for an hour and a half. CANT FUCKEN WAIT!!!!!

lastnight we stood in a drizzle of rain for an hour and a half waiting for bon jovi to come on stage, while some shit house aussie band opened for them. When the big names finally came out on stage i'de never heard a crowd scream and cheer so much. Richie Sambora is the fucken mantis and bon jovi, after 20 years he's still got it. Fuck me, 20,000 people singing laong to "living on a prayer" was fucken WIKED!!!! They played a 2 and a half hour set and did 2 sets of encores, it was awesome. They played all the classics. It was well worth the wait in the rain, well worth the money spend and well worth the 12 wait to see them live. Deff go see them if you get the chance, we were standing in the middle of the crowd so we had the mintest view so it rocked.

Ok, put a sock in it! I'm sooooo jealous!!! They are in NZ next SUNDAY!!!! But it completely sux because they are only playing ONCE in CHRISTCHURCH - that's, like, the other end of the country and FREAKIN expensive to get there. For me and my other half to go - it would have cost us about $1,000 all up incl flights and accom. So we had to choose between Rock2Wgtn at Easter or Bon Jovi..... You have NO IDEA how gutted I am that I don't get to see Bon Jovi. I have never seen them live..... the closest i have got is a live DVD. But such as life. It's so very depressing... Oh well... I'm off to my own forum to spout off there!!
(But I will say, I'm glad you enjoyed it ) - I am still trying to convince myself that because they gone a bit 'country' then i won't be missing out on much.....

That's how we feel down here every time there's a gig up north that's not coming to the south island.

We finally get a big name and it's the one band that epitomised what I hated about pop-metal in the 1980's

Oh come on... nothing wrong with Bon Jovi man! They are the ones that defined what the 80's was all about...! They WERE the 80's ;) Who would you have rather seen?

HUNDREDS of bands I'd rather see, just looking at my CD collection, there's plenty I'd pick. But as long as we're talking 80's stadium rock bands that are still now playing shows as old men, then Iron Maiden, Bowie, The Cure or Metallica would be the go for me.



And the 80's was a really shitty time in popular music. There was great stuff underneath the mainstream (as always) but by and large it was a time of watered down, paint-by-numbers, in-it-for-the-money garbage.

Zeppelin, while they're undoubedly awesome, Plant's voice irked me sometimes.

Actually, Zeppelin are the reason we had 80's metal - Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt... all those guys just wanted to live their rock n roll lifestyle, only with MORE cocaine and sluts
