food sucks shit over here, man. I miss NZ meat and fruit especially - their fruit is disgusting.

I miss going to BK at 2am after being at a pub or going to denny's for a oreo shake or going n hanging out at burger fuel or st pieres sushi hmmmmm or just chineese food.

I loved all the seafood when I was over there on holiday. So cheap too!

But you're right, people in our family over there say the same thing. Especially about beer!

Wow, when I was over their the food was awesome... it was good to have real greek food, not the crap that passes for greek in ChCh. Had the best Thai I've ever had in Aussie too.

Fruit like Mango etc are great in Aus', cheaper than NZ too.

I don't find the "big name" Aussie beers any more disgusting than the big name Kiwi brands (I'm talking the generic goat urine Lion breweries put out).

I tried octopus for the frist time in Melbourne and I was pleasantly surprised.

Then you must be a supporter of people like Steve Irwin. It's people like him that raise that publics awareness of the wildlife that exists around us. He was also a passionate conservationalist.

Some might argue with the way he did it, but in the end he was just trying to get his cause noticed. Today's generation would pay no attention to a Jacques Cousteau (RIP) style presentation. Steve's style of presenting was enlightening and caught people's attention.

Often people, like you Clownie, are not all for eating meat, but then eat Chicken with less concern than if it was beef. Why is this? when chickens are more commonly the ones who suffer much more from animal rights abuse than most cows.

Heh, there's a second part to my story...

While I may have had an epiphany when cutting into some Xmas ham, I lapsed back into being an omnivore after about 9 months.

I guess at the end of the day I realised pigs were still dying, and ham still tastes good

And nope, I don't donate to ANY charity, because I can't even keep my own life together let alone worry about the animals. And if I dug into my pocket every time I heard a sob story I'd be broke... and I don't believe throwing money at problems fixes them.

And don't worry, I'm not making digs at you, just a healthy debate is all it is.

Humans are shit, but I they're shit with room for improvement so shouldn't be written off completely. A social awakening will change that, and I hope it happens.

People are always putting humans below animals because of humanity's track record of doing horrible things to each other, as if animals never do that... nature is BRUTAL, rape, killing the weak, fathers killing their children etc.... we're just learning to crawl out of that animal phase and transcend that. Which we will.

I think what some people are looking for is some sort of equality amongst the creatures that live on this earth- humans included. But it will always be difficult to find that when there is such a significant difference in intellect. We can already see that hierarchy amongst humans.






P.S. What happened to the underlining in red of incorrect spelling? It was useful
