RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Sun Feb 17, 2008 10:58 pm I loved all the seafood when I was over there on holiday. So cheap too! But you're right, people in our family over there say the same thing. Especially about beer! |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 10:18 am Wow, when I was over their the food was awesome... it was good to have real greek food, not the crap that passes for greek in ChCh. Had the best Thai I've ever had in Aussie too. Fruit like Mango etc are great in Aus', cheaper than NZ too. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 3:14 pm I don't find the "big name" Aussie beers any more disgusting than the big name Kiwi brands (I'm talking the generic goat urine Lion breweries put out). I tried octopus for the frist time in Melbourne and I was pleasantly surprised. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 5:27 pm Quote:I am passionate about animal welfareThen you must be a supporter of people like Steve Irwin. It's people like him that raise that publics awareness of the wildlife that exists around us. He was also a passionate conservationalist. Some might argue with the way he did it, but in the end he was just trying to get his cause noticed. Today's generation would pay no attention to a Jacques Cousteau (RIP) style presentation. Steve's style of presenting was enlightening and caught people's attention. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:14 am Often people, like you Clownie, are not all for eating meat, but then eat Chicken with less concern than if it was beef. Why is this? when chickens are more commonly the ones who suffer much more from animal rights abuse than most cows. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 1:44 pm no one's flinging shit at you, they're jus asking "questions" in order to set things straight. It's kool what you're trying to become and i respect that, 'cause there are so many heartless pricks in this world who get pleasure out of abusing animals. i'll admit i eat meat but if i see or hear or someone who's abused an animal i feel disgusyed, but i guess i'm just a fucked up person |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:34 pm Quote:K.I.N.G, you may have given up meat altogether, but have you ever stood out in the freezing cold with a bucket collecting money for the pigs? Do you have an AP set up with your bank to donate a sum of money to WSPA each month?Heh, there's a second part to my story... While I may have had an epiphany when cutting into some Xmas ham, I lapsed back into being an omnivore after about 9 months. I guess at the end of the day I realised pigs were still dying, and ham still tastes good And nope, I don't donate to ANY charity, because I can't even keep my own life together let alone worry about the animals. And if I dug into my pocket every time I heard a sob story I'd be broke... and I don't believe throwing money at problems fixes them. And don't worry, I'm not making digs at you, just a healthy debate is all it is. |

I never give to charities either because I feel you never really know where, or how much of, your money goes. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:08 am Quote:I NEVER donate to human charities, because I'm anti-humanity. Donate money to the homeless and they'll spend it on boozeHumans are shit, but I they're shit with room for improvement so shouldn't be written off completely. A social awakening will change that, and I hope it happens. People are always putting humans below animals because of humanity's track record of doing horrible things to each other, as if animals never do that... nature is BRUTAL, rape, killing the weak, fathers killing their children etc.... we're just learning to crawl out of that animal phase and transcend that. Which we will. This message was edited by K.I.N.G on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:11 am. |

RE: I miss NZ food Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 12:06 pm I think what some people are looking for is some sort of equality amongst the creatures that live on this earth- humans included. But it will always be difficult to find that when there is such a significant difference in intellect. We can already see that hierarchy amongst humans. P.S. What happened to the underlining in red of incorrect spelling? It was useful [EDIT: We've never had a "spell-check" on here, so I guess it was some fancy gizmo on your own computer. ~Kraven] |

Slowly the world is being fucked up. Landfills, pollution in the air, extinction of animals and just plain fucken up the earth This message was edited by Sailor on Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:29 pm. |
