Okay i'm sorry people i hate surveys too but i really need this for my level 1 ncea..

Okay, Question 1: Why is music so important to you?
Question 2: Do you think the music affected you when you were young / affects you now?
Question 3: How do you percieve NZ musicians?
Q 4: How might nz music's popularity be incresed?
Q 5: What are your opinions of live music versus recorded music and why?

1. It's important to me because I love singing along to music and singing makes me happy.

2. I think the heavy metal I listened to during my teen years had a part to play in my moodiness and negativity about myself. Music doesn't affect me now, just makes me want to sing along.

3. There are so many different kinds of musicians in so many genres, I'll go with hip hop artists. I think they try to be like american hip hop artists and they're try-hards. Wannabe gangsters. Listening to that stuff probably kills off braincells.

4. If David Cook will go out with me maybe I can put in a good word for New Zealand music?

5. Often when you go to a live show it isn't anywhere near as good as the recorded version. However, occasionally you see a singer/band who is amazing live and that definately beats recorded music.

1. Since I was like 11 years old, all i was ever interested in was music. I got kickedo ut of school to be in a band, i just didn't give a fuck about school - cos all i thought was "schools not gonna teach me how to play guitar and yea i jus love it.

2. Yes, it did. When i was like 15-16, i listened t oa lot of anti punk bands. nofx, rise against and bands that jus don't give a fuck about things and it kinda influenced me to go down that road myself and it turned me kind of rebellious(but now i've sorted my shit out)

3. I think NZ has a LOT of talented musicians but because it's a hard business in NZ that they're not getting the credibility they deserve

4. More promotion, less downloading(but this isn't gonna happen - it's fucked)

5. both have their pros and cons.
Live music - can get everyone into a great atmosphere and being a musician myself, there's no greater feelings than havin a crowd of 2000 + kids singing back the words to a song you wrote.
Recorded music - It's just rad cos it's there when you want it and also it's a good way to get peo0ple to come long to live shows Blue Razz
