Where are all the gd pies bein sold?

Ive had a bit of travelin under my belt but every pie i seem to eat is quite gross! I need to find a gd pie.Not cheap and not a dare pie like the over-priced n not too nice Trishes pies from wellies.Need to find a gd bakery.Any gd places worthy 2 nourish in? no servo pies either.(end rant}

Quentin's pies were good when they were around.

I've given up meat though so my pie options are rather limited now.

You can't beat a good hand-made pie baked at the bakery (as opposed to those dumps that order them by the crate).

I love gourmet chicken pies like butter chicken or chicken, cranberry and brie.

There's a bakery in Warkworth that makes the best chicken, spinach and feta pies I've ever tasted. We were camping at Goat Island and we made a special trip back to the bakery just for their delicious pies.

(when I did eat meat) I tried a "super pie" from a cafe down from work... WOW... it feels heavy in your hands Nice big chunks of steak, layered on chunky veges with mince underneath, perfect gravy and perfect pastry, and fkn huge

But that wasn't enough for the resident overweight garbage can at work who had to go get himself a bacon and egg pie because super-pie just didn't quite touch the sides

ok guys here it is. the BEST pies in new zealand come from the windsor park bakery on the north shore of auckland. and i mean the best pies!!! whenever iv introduce people to the awsome goodness that is a windsor park bakery pie they always thank me for inriching their life. the last person that i introduced 2 these wonderful pies said to me (as he was nearing the end of it) "damn, i wish id brought 2 pies!" thats how awsome they are.
my fave is the steak and cheese pie. whats every1 elses fave??

I went to try a Jesters pie once, but they had completely sold out.

Never been back since.

With Steak n' Cheese being my preference, I'd recommend the following in Palmy:

'Rumour Has It' on Pioneer Highway for their delicious gravy and flaky pastry.

'Chelwood Pies' these guys are wholesalers and supply a decent proportion of the cafes in town. Pies are just $1, but you need to be there at the right time to get them. Luckily they are just up the road from work

'Olympic Bakery' - the one on College Street (avoid the one on Broadway!) - I don't know what they put in their pies (they're Asian) as the flavour is definitely not what you traditionally get, but they are super yummy!

The key for me is good quality meat. There is nothing worse than biting into a massive chunk of fat when it should be meat. But in the end, if I'm eating a pie it's for convenience, so I'm not really going to go out of my way to find something special.

you know what? i am actually a fan of big ben pies. i stick them in the microwave for 5 mins till they r almost burnt. try it out

yea it was there. by the old kfc and macas. the bakery is bout 8 years old. quite recent.
