My opinion...

I'm a graphic designer, and I am ALWAYS looking out for inspiration, things that work, good ideas I can build on etc... in fact, the more I do (been doing this for 10 years this year), the more I realise 90% of design/advertising is derivative of somebody elses work.

But in cases like this, it just looks like the Creative went looking around an a bunch of amateur work, presented it to the marketing team and probably got all the kudos.

I do it all the time with ads, but not to the point it's as obvious as this!

Shame on telecom if that's actually the case, because their marketing and branding is usually really original.

Actually I'm gonna send that into ad-media, a magazine I read. They have letters to the editor about this sort of thing all the time.

Let down to here that this was telecom though.. So what happened on the 11 of July in NZ, I was reading the posts against these articles and a few people were say roll on 11 July?? Don't know what they are referring to!!
